Bigger means better? Gigantic Honor Note 10 to launch in China on July 31

  • The Honor Note 10 will launch in China on July 31.
  • Honor shared teaser images on Chinese social media confirming the launch date and hinting at the phone’s rumored 6.9-inch display and 6,000mAh battery.
  • Honor has also sent invites to press for a pre-IFA 2018 event where the Note 10 could enjoy a global launch.

Honor has officially confirmed plans to launch a new phablet called the Note 10 at an event in China on July 31. The follow-up to 2016’s Honor Note 8 (spare a thought for the MIA Note 9) may also enjoy a global launch a day prior to IFA 2018 based on an invite sent to press yesterday.

The Note 10 imminent arrival was confirmed by the Huawei sub-brand on Chinese social media (via Fone Arena) in a bunch of teaser art hinting at the phone’s huge display and battery.

Editor’s Pick

Based on recent rumors and a leaked in-the-wild image, the Honor Note 10 will sport a behemoth 6.9-inch Quad HD+ FullView display with thin bezels. Battery-wise, the Note 10 will reportedly pack a whopping 6,000mAh cell alongside 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

There are still some question marks over the SoC Honor has chosen for its latest phablet, with both the familiar Kirin 970 (with GPU Turbo) and the recently revealed Kirin 710 chipset both being thrown into the rumor mill. It seems likely that Honor will play up the Note 10’s gaming capabilities, so fans will likely be hoping Honor goes for the top-end HiSilicon processor.

Pricing and availability are both still up in the air. The former may be especially important if Honor wants to go toe-to-toe with Xiaomi’s latest phablet offering, the Mi Max 3, which starts at ~$252. The phone’s predecessor, the Note 8, sat firmly in the sub-flagship camp with a $345 asking price, so Honor may be targeting a more discerning audience after a powerful phone for gaming that won’t break the bank.

We’ll know for sure in just over a week’s time. For now, let us know what you want to see from the Honor Note 10 in the comments below.
